Even though the movies 12 angry men argued the same case, there were some important differences.
First, one example between the two films was the racial differences. In the 1957 version, there was an all white-man jury to decide whether the boy was guilty or not. The boy was also white and seemed immature like he did not know what was going on. The boy was convicted of killing his father. Out of the all-white jury, only one man thought he was innocent. There was a doubt in his mind that there was just no way that this had committed murder. at the wrong times. In the 1957 version, ever though they were an all-white jury, they still treated each other with disrespect. If one wanted to discuss something the other didn’t want to because that one was so stubborn to change his vote. He stood alone. He didn’t want to change his vote for a thing he always thought he knew everything. In the 1997 version, the black men were the problem. He was just like the man that didn’t want to change his vote. He thought he knew everything, but he didn’t. Finally, one man told him to sit down and shut up. Towards the end he was really quiet until the jury asked him what his vote was going to be.
Next, a good example of the differences were the signs of the court room changes. It was extremely weird because in the 1957 version, there was a man that was the judge and back in those days the man did the work and the women stayed home and cleaned the house and cooked dinner. There was also no swearing in the courtroom, a difference ...
