To start things off, ANWR stands for Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. This land is a 8.9 million acre piece land that houses some of the worlds most preserved produce, OIL! This piece of land is nothing but a frozen tundra with animas that can only survive off of little amounts of food. Drilling in the ANWR is a touchy subject for some people to talk about, weather your for it, or against it. There are many reasons why people like to argue upon this subject because some people believe that we should drill, and some believe that we should not. Many people that live in Alaska believe that their an sisters used this land for many good reasons and they do not want anyone taking this major piece of history away from them just to drill for oil that will not even effect out pockets until ten years down the road. The people who lived there many many years ago used this land for hunting, living, and everything they could possibly need to survive.
Another reason I am completely against drilling in ANWR is because it can most definitely affect the animals that occupy the land. Even though this piece of land is nothing but frozen tundra, there are still a few kinds of animals that live in it. The most popular types of animals you can find here are Polar bears, and Elk. These are pretty large animals and polar bears are very limited these days.
