Through text and movie of Madame Bovary, we have seen how Emma pursuit of passion in love and let it commit adultery. Living in boring countryside, or living with a man without love which leads her to adultery. Madame Bovary, who has pursued an adulterous relationship, has often found herself suffering the pain, loss and death.
First of all, Emma was bearing the pain in her soul because of betrayal her husband. When she has affair with Rodolphe, she's extremely happy, and she maintains the illusion that her happy can be forever. Unfortunately, Rodolphe said that he didn't have money to give her. Emma recognized that "I'd have given you everything, I'd have sold everything, worked my fingers to the bone, begged in the streets, just for a smile from you". She also realized that Rodolphe only seduces her only.
The last reaction from adultery is death. After failing to get any money from Rodolphe and Leon, Emma was empty. She dedicated her love for both Rodolphe and Leon, however both man refuse to help her which ruin her life till death. She found arsenic and ate it. In the end of story, "Emma was thinking that now she was through with all the betrayals, the infamies, the countless fierce desires that had racked her". She thought she could get beautiful death, but Emma died in great pain.
