Everyday students work vigorously to secure academic success. They frequently set goals for themselves and strive to reach them. The American dream is like a grade which a student works hard to receive. It is a goal that one sets for himself. America to him was a fresh sheet of paper on which one could start a new painting of “the good life.” In America, one has rights. Americans can originate from anywhere and still be called an American. De Crevecoeur holds this fact to be of the utmost importance.
