He believes that Americans have considerable soft power because they can influence the goals and desires of others through global images communicated through mass media. In his outlook of the global economy, the U.S. has the capability to lead the international community to establish a system based on our fundamental values that is universally accepted.
Unfortunately, the U.S. policy towards Iraq may lead many to endorse Nye's Utopian view of the world.
