The mother does not give the daughter a chance to suggest otherwise or to argue about an issue, which means that the mother overlooked the opinions of the daughter. The mother believed that the girl should follow her advice and opinions as that was the right path for her. This illustrates how the mother fails to understand her daughter or even know about her thinking. This denies her a chance of knowing what the girl does in her free time or with her friends or whether she practices what she is taught.
