This paper addresses the modern suggestion; that Australia, economically, has much to gain by further determining the special economic value of those animals which we do not consume as commodity; by either eating the animal itself or produce from the animal, but, with whom we tend to surround ourselves in public and private; that is, the animals found in our homes. Discussion and conclusion suggest that society ought to embrace the contribution pets and similar companion working animals bring to human health and people and communities that do value these animals, have much to gain.
