Many of our fashion trends come from Ancient Egypt. In fact, our hairstyles seemed to have had a huge comparison with Egypt’s hairstyles. The Egyptians had several fashionable styles. They also had creative techniques. The artistic Ancient Egyptian’s fashion consisted of dazzling jewelry, fashionable clothing, and good-looking hair and makeup.
First, Egyptian fashion consisted of jewelry. Both men and women, of all social classes, wore jewelry. wore a loincloth. A loincloth was a piece of fabric worn around their hips to cover their genital area (dictionary.com). They didn’t always wear a loincloth. In fact, for formal events, both men and women wore beautiful, white gowns. To show their unique body figure, the Egyptians wore their dresses tightly fitted. Males didn’t always wear dresses. In fact, they wore kilts. “Kilts were a rectangular piece of fabric wrapped around the waist and tied in the front with a cord or belted” (Brier, 121). Even though, Egyptians seemed to have had stylish techniques for wearing clothes, their hair and makeup completed the fashionable trend.
Finally, the Egyptians completed their fashion with their pretty hair and makeup. They had several hair styles. For example, the women wore their hair in a neatly cut bob. According to Bob Brier, they used ribbons and wigs to be more fashionable. The Egyptian men also had hair styles. For example, they wore their hair in short styles with bangs. ...
