These leaders believed that all people should and could share equally in the wealth of the country.
The first leader of the animal revolution was Old Major, a prized-boar belonging to Mr. Jones. Old Major gave many speeches to the farm animals about hope and the future. He was the main animal who initiated the rebellion even though he died before it actually began.
Old Major’s role compares to Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx whose ideas lead to the communist revolution. Lenin became leader and teacher of the working class in Russia, in their determination to overthrow capitalism and establish a socialist state. Like Old Major, Lenin and Marx gave speeches to the working class about the ideas of communism and hope for a different life.
