A Girl and Her Balloon

Banksy's beautiful image of a girl and a balloon with the text beside it saying, "THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE" portrays a deep yet inconsistent meaning. It could be interpreted that the little girl represents purity and innocence while the balloon symbolizes lost love or hope.
Moreover, as the little girl is extending her arm toward the balloon, it is initially difficult to interpret whether she is reaching out to capture the balloon that has escaped or whether she is letting it go as an act to set it free. through the robust winds, there is still hope within the sadness. The girl seems to represent humanity as we begin our lives care-free and wondering through a state of blissful innocence despite being continually faced with hardships throughout life.
