Beauty is a word that is all perception. It is something that can be seen differently by everyone. Beauty to some is nature, and to some it might be something that makes them happy. The movie, Life is Beautiful, is a perfect example of how different people can see beauty in many different ways. The holocaust in Italy was a place where the definition of beauty probably changed for a lot of people. Some thought family and having fun was beauty, some thought a perfect world with the perfect race was beautiful, and some thought the material things like fame and fortune were the most beautiful.

Things that were beautiful to Joshua were very simplistic and relatively unbiased because he was so young.
The perception of beautiful would be much different for a woman who was a Nazi working in a Jewish work camp. What she would perceive as beautiful would be considered horrible and sinister to most. Something that she would have imagined to be very beautiful would be a “perfect” world, full of people who have the perfect religion and ethnicity.
