Being an African American male in today's society has its challenges. Overcoming the statistic of African American males not attending college has been a pursuing goal I have had for many years. Graduating high school and entering the work force where I am consistently working full time is definitely an achievement. Being raised by a single mother who has served in the United States Army for 21 years has allowed me to see a different perspective on life.
