Benefits of Cloning: A Research Proposal

Background: Cloning is generally understood by the public as the act of making another copy of a human being using genetic materials from the first. While this working definition is broad enough to encompass the research report itself, there is some terminology which will need definition; the actual process of making the clone may be developed and described in more depth. A few pages of explanation, perhaps in lay person's terms with more scientific information as footnotes. Terms which I have discovered initially which will need definition include the following:

My opinion is for cloning - I see it as a viable option for the creation of healthy organs for both human and animal use; as described in one research paper which I have read, cloning in animals can show which animals are going to be the healthiest - the example was scientists taking a sample of beef from a cow which had been slaughtered 48 hours previous. This would help ensure farmers can have the healthiest cows for the best meat, and would be beneficial to humans as genetic defects would be removed.
A tentative way to begin the paper would be to explain how the cloning of the sheep 'Dolly' in 1997 Scotland was not really the beginning of cloning, but a natural evolution of humanity's science programs and the evolution of people as 'masters' of their fate. A tentative ending is to summarize the major changes and safeguards to the cloning process, as well as a brief listing of their benefits.
