are both great stories of English literature. They have some distinct similarities; for example they both involve characters with superhuman qualities. They also have some differences like different settings and different resolutions.
One obvious similarity is that it is a story about good vs. evil. They also have a main character that has sort of magical powers. In Beowulf, Beowulf is the main character. He is able to defeat powerful monsters, either with his bare hands or a weapon. In Paradise Lost, God is able to defeat Satan by kicking him out of heaven. Both stories are written in a poetic style.
