In December of 1916, the death of Rasputin, an advisor to the Tsar, marked a vulnerability of Nicholas II’s regime. Many people didn’t recognize the impact because they had more important things concerning their lives, (Bainton 25) but it did not stop thousands from taking advantage of Russia at its lowest. The month of February, massive protests arose in the capital. The riots caused such a big impact that eventually Tsar Nicholas abdicated and the Provisional government formed. “Provisional Government was the government of the bourgeoisie.”(Carr 81) Even after the February Revolution, the people’s needs were still not met.
