Boyz n the Hood written and directed by John Singleton, a drama-based film about an African-American growing up in South Central Los Angeles. The main character Tré Styles moves with his father after getting into trouble at school. While living with his father Tre’ learns life lessons.
This film changed my life after watching many times because it taught me how to be a man, the values Tre’s father instilled in him were very similar to the values my father taught me. An example from the movie; Tre’s father, Furious Styles tells Tre’ to rake the front lawn as well as maintain the house, Tre’ saw this as unfair, he says “ Dad what do you have to do around here” Furious ...

and take care of you” he also said when I have a house of my own I can treat it how ever I want. After watching this movie and seeing what Tre’ went though and how it made him a man, made me want to be one as well.
Another way this movie changed my life was the way the Furious talked about sex and the risks that came with it. There is a scene in the movie where Tre’ is fishing with his father and asks him “Tre’ What do you know about sex” Tre’ responds by saying “ I know I take a girl, stick my finger in her and nine months later a baby comes out.” Furious then responds by saying “ any fool can make a baby, but only a real man can raise his children.” That’s when I realized that I wanted to have a stable home before I have children, that way I can be a role model for them. In another scene as Tre’ is older now, he tells furious that he is having unprotected sex, which makes his father mad because Tre’ can get a disease.
