Over 110 millions Americans own and use a cell phone, and have become dependant on them while going through their normal day to day life. Increased concerns on health, destruction of the English language from texting, and dangers of cell phones on the roads have begun to immerge and raise questions. Are cell phones a positive technological advancement, or are the costs it entails to high and not worth the risk? brain tumors. The current population that has been raised on cell phones is expected to witness these negative side effects in the near future. Because of the popularity of the mobile phone, facts like these are available only to people who seek them. The phone companies do not warn their customers of the risks that lie within buying a phone and using it in excess.
Not all people agree that the electromagnetic radiation is harmful, and they feel that it does not cause effects on the brain. Their argument is that the radiation is expelled in such low doses that it cannot break apart atoms to turn them into ions. They hold a strong argument, but have weak evidence. Although some studies have shown no negative effects from cell phone use, there have been far more studies that have strong data showing negative effects on the brain do occur from constant phone use and constant radiation absorption in the brain.
