Celts VS Saxons - School Essays

Celts VS Saxons

Although both groups of Europeans were around during the same time
period the Saxons and the Celts have many indifferences. Of the most
dominant characteristics in the Celtic tribes include eagerness to fight,
and high independence. The Saxons who overtook the Celts in the 5th century
were known as drunks and gluttons, and a very high level of chastity.
The Celtic tribes of early Europe were very used to the fact that
they had to be good fighters to survive. They were a oppressed group of
people and come the 400's they had been pushed out of France, then from
Spain and then to the British Isles. In the Celtic culture men were
expected to go and fight in war. That was considered their job. ...

make the most of becoming a nomadic tribe at times. Due to the popularity
of war and bloodshed the Celts had to become used to losing and winning,
not only battles but members of the community also. Individual Celts became
more individually independent and self-reliant do to the fact that loss was
experienced so frequently. Examples of very independent people are the
Germans. This is because of the loss they have suffered through both World
Wars. Their stubborn and self-reliant reputation has been an outcome of
that.
The Saxons became used to the reality that they usually came out on
top of battles either against the Celts or otherwise. Also the Saxons used
advanced farming methods that made it possible for the Saxons to have more
free time than other tribes of the time. They were settled sooner and had a
more relaxed life style than the Celts. Because of this the Saxons began to
enjoy the higher side of life with fatty food and alcoholic beverages. They
