For much of China’s history, the dynastic cycle dictated the flow of governmental regimes, and while all claiming to be distinct in government, where really much in the same. However, with the end of the nineteenth and start of the twentieth century, the last Chinese dynasty, the Qing, collapsed giving way to a republic.
