The Chocolate War: Comparison Between Book And Movie

Although Brother Leon is an adult and Archie is just a teenager,
they both have many common qualities. Archie and Brother Leon are both
leaders in there own way. Brother Leon is the leader of a school, and
Archie is the head of the Vigils. They are both very mean males. And they
both have the power of getting people to do what they want.
Jerry is a Freshman in high school, which has a tradition in which
the eldest kids pick on the newcomers. And in Jerry's case there is a high
school "Gang," who chooses freshman and make them do things that would not
be able to do and not get in trouble for it. (The fact that Jerry gets
chosen to do all sorts of assignments and his mother is dead ...

I liked the movie better than the book. It was better because
Jerry got even with Archie for once. And that in my opinion, is a better
way to end a movie like the Chocolate War. I just feel that movies are
more helpful. And in this case I just feel that it was much better. The
book just lacked many unexplainable qualities, that the movie had. ...
