In our global society, the world has developed economically in ways that have brought pervasive and some fear permanent change to many of the natural ecosystems around us. Many see this is a process which is unsustainable, meaning we will not be able to produce the same levels of products for human use for very long because we are damaging the ecosystem and limiting our own future. This makes us ask how we can change this situation, and it seems we need to develop a new ethic to help is determine what actions are acceptable and what can lead to disaster.
