Es una película renacentista, donde un hombre (Shakespeare), que es actor, poeta y director, se enamora de una mujer que está comprometida y es una de las protagonistas de su obra, donde ella se hace pasar por hombre.

Es una gran película, donde se muestra todo lo que es el teatro renacentista. Sólo podían actuar los hombres, ninguna mujer, si no podía ser cerrado el teatro, cancelada la actuación y detenidos los actores por infringir la ley.

En esta obra se muestra como una mujer que quiere ser actriz y no puede por la discriminación de los derechos de la mujer, se viste y se hace pasar por un hombre para conseguir su sueño.
