Two fashion companies Botany 500 and Dolce & Gabbana provide a glimpse into the evolution of sexuality by how they embark on this mission to sell clothing through the perception of what men consider the function of clothing and fashion. While two ads chose the path of sexuality to sell their product they undertake this mission with a different mindset of what the purpose of fashion means to men and how it relates to that sexuality, one using functionality and durability with style to gain favor with women and the other to gain pure pleasure with members of the same sex.

The question becomes what part of sexuality is socially acceptable, how much is too much, what type of sexuality is acceptable. While advertising has influence over societies perceptions the ad designers do not have ultimate autonomy to do as they please they have to work with in the bubble of main steam society’s beliefs and continuously gently push on the boundary to be innovative and successful.
