The Frye standard is the admissibility of scientific or expert testimony in courts of law. To gain acceptance the proposed evidence or testimony must agree with generally accepted scientific methods or thinking. The Frye standard is critical to the legal presentation of the findings of a forensic examination. Forensic evidence is based on science. Some of the scientific methods have been long-established and readily pass legal muster.
