The Cycle of Knowledge is similar to the Scientific Method but it relates to the profession of Early Childhood Education. There are methods that guide teachers to prepare a curriculum that best fits the children's or individual needs and interest. Another advantage of the Cycle of Knowledge is, there are more than one ways to assess children. Using different assessments to evaluate children might bring up show different development rather than just using one system.
Some Challenges of the Cycle of Knowledge are, having the standards integrated into a curriculum and assessments that are of high quality. (Wortham,2012 pg.47) this may cause teachers to use methods that are not appropriate when teaching children.
I think another challenge is coming up with a curriculum that is beneficial and developmentally appropriate. I would not want to come up with a plan that is too easy because it would not promote abstract thinking and the children would probably become bored with the lesson.
