The calpullec was the head of all local activities, he also had officials under him that collected taxes. The city of Tenochtitlan was said to have had a population of around 500,000 to 1,000,000 people.
The general appearance of the building were said to be very beautiful. The streets in the city were straight and wide, and canals ran along the streets for boats to travel on.
