The ethical issues in this case is the depreciation. Even though the land price has risen, depreciation is still necessary. And for all owners to approve it, makes the whole companies thoughts and process are unethical. It violates many aspects of all accounting procedures and policies. The fact that this storage facility is underground, and companies store sensitive documents, computer records and other items there seems unethical as well. If your company is being ran the way it should be and reporting things correctly, there should be nothing you need to store, especially not in an off site underground facility.
