The Biblical story of creation is well-known. It can be summarized in that God created the world in six days and on the seventh day He rested. It takes place in Genesis 1:1-2-2:25 where God gives a detailed account of what He did exactly in the creation of everything. For many years this account has been taken as literal by Christians, but with the latest scientific knowledge that is coming in and the new information we are learning about our earth, there are more and more discrepancies between the Bible’s view of creation and what scientists believe happened. believe that the earth is approximately 4.6 billion years old, but if the age of the earth is calculated through the Bible, then the earth would add up to be only 6000 years old. This discrepancy further makes critics believe that Bible is inaccurate or untrue. Lastly the Bible says that God created everything on earth in six days but the scientific community believes that the universe itself was created through an event known as the Big Bang and that life on Earth was an accident and we evolved from simple bacteria. However, there is a logical explanation for all of this that allows for the Bible and the scientific community to both be right.
