been denied for a job, a bank loan, or anything usually feels disrespected than there heterosexual counterparts and it may even cause potential suicide thoughts due to the lack of respect. Discrimination has proven that it can cause depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, alcohol abuse and other problems if it is not resolved soon (DeANGELIS, T. 2002, February).
The LGBT community face a huge amount of discrimination in the workplace even more so than others. According to Catalyst, there is no federal law protecting the rights of LGBT employees in the United States. In 29 of the 50 U.S. states, employees can be fired for being lesbian, gay, or bisexual; in 33 states, employees can be fired for being transgender (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Workplace Issues. 2012, May 01).
