in the distance. Then and only then, did I realize the grip of death I so narrowly escaped. I was lucky, but I also realized something else, I realized that from here on out, it was nothing but adventure for me.
This was my first time rafting, in fact, I had barely even heard of white water rafting until my father had suggested it to me 2 hours before we went on the river. The whole concept seemed stupid to me, but I didn’t have any idea what it was. Every year, our family vacationed in Eastern Tennessee, and I always dreaded going, because of the lack of activities to do. This all changed the summer that I was 14 years old when introduced to the exciting river sport. The most exciting experience was yet to come; all the mayhem was upon us when we entered The Powerhouse, a series of rapids on the lower end of The Ocoee.
