In Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury describes how the world would be like in the twieny-fourth century. The things that he wrote about in the novel are similar to the things which extict today. The technology level in the novel is more advanced. The billboards in the novel, were stretch from the standard size of today,today to two hundred-feet long. They had to stretch them because the drivers drove so fast they could not read or see what the billboard was advertisting. The mechanical hound in the firehouse worked as a sercurity system only better. It was a device of terror, a machine whose perverse similarity to a trained killer-dog. It was improves by a refined technology that allows it to inexorably track down and capture criminals by stunnning them with a tranquilizer. This hound would be very useful in today’s society.
The novel reflects censorship because the people can not read books or express themselves. Instead of firemen putting out fires, they started them. They are caretakers of the furture society’s of maintaning social order. They are the offinal censors of the state. They believe books are evil thoughfore they must be destoryed. This violates the First Amendment of the United States Constitition.
The role of Proffessor Faber was to help Montag to realize what the firemen were doing to his mind, and stand up for what he believed. ...
