Mohandas Gandhi was born and raised in Porbandar in India on October 2, 1869. In 1888 Gandhi went to London to study law. Gandhi sailed to South Africa and became a lawyer for an Indian firm, after that he helped fight for Indian rights. Gandhi changed the world with his fight for peace, fairness, and equality. One night at a freezing railroad station he had been thrown off a train because of the color of his skin. Gandhi controlled his anger very well and didn’t fight back. He also taught the people to be able to support themselves without the help of the British. He organized boycotts on British goods and helped the Indian people show the British that they were unwanted and unneeded in India, but he never once allowed violence.
