was born on February 7, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma as Troyal Garth Brooks. His mother is Colleen Brooks and his father is Troyal Brooks. He is married to Sandy Brooks and has three children. His first album hit the charts on March 25, 1989. On September 9, 1989 “If Tomorrow Never Comes” got his first #1 spot in the charts. Since then, he has had over 62 million sales, with one album (Rope In The Wind) topping over 11 million sales in 1991. He has set a high standard in country music and given it a long awaited revival. me the first time I saw it. This was not his intent but that’s what happened. Once I learned more about the character I under stood what The Chris Gains project was all about. Many devoted Garth fans were confused because they didn’t know if he was done with country all together. Some people were even angry and felt betrayed. So far The Chris Gains project hasn’t caught on. Honestly I like the new style of music, it’s a side of Garth I’ve rarely seen. Garth has paved the way for a new generation of country music. Garth always performed for the people and that’s why he has such a huge following. It seems if the people aren’t happy, then he isn’t happy. His exhilarating performances are wild and fun. New groups like the Dixie Chicks, and Shania Twain have in a way followed his foot steps to stardom. But like I said is my favorite singer and probably always will be.
