Weekly Reflection Paper

This week in class we started to read the Bible from the beginning and learn about the evolution of religion and text in Judaism. We learned about the different types of biblical stories that are in the bible. The Bible isn't meant to be an actual "definition" of history. The Bible is put together by different groups of people, from different years. There are stories that were passed down that we believe to be true. After that, we read the section called Genesis.

literary terms that are used. Some of them include Repetitive, Allusions, and Foreshadowing. Repetitive is used in the Bible to give it more meaning to the reader. There are a repetition of images, words, and phrases. There are allusions in the Bible that relate to other stories. Throughout the Bible you will see a change in the dialogue of characters as well as foreshadowing. There are Biblical editors that edit the Bible and they have a role in saying what happened throughout the years and the editors are responsible for making connections between stories and people.
In the Genesis story it starts with the story of creation. How God, a spirit hovering over an empty, watery void, creates the world by speaking into the darkness and calling into being light, sky, land, vegetation, and living creatures over the course of six days.
