, one of the most fascinating elements on the earth today.
has been used by humans for almost six thousand years and has been valued
since the earliest of times for its beauty and resistance to corrosion.
Without the economy of the world be drastically changed.
I have chosen as my element because of its extensive value. It
has always been valued and is worth a great amount of money. I've often
wondered why gold was always a beloved element and why people of early
times wanted it so badly. Also, it's worth money, which I plan on making a

tiny flakes or sands but sometimes is found in nuggets. The largest nugget
ever found weighed eight kilograms. "Gold deposits are usually classified
as lode, placer, massive or disseminated types" (Colliers Encyclopedia).
"Lode deposits are mostly associated with acidic ingenous intrusives in
rocks of the Precambrian to late Tertiary periods"(Green 1968). Metallic
gold is mostly found in lode deposits. The weathering of lode deposits
causes gold to build up in placer deposits. Placer deposits come in many
different forms such as beach, stream, marine or alluvial.

In ancient times Arabia, India, Persia, Caucasia, Asia Minor, the
Balkans and many parts of Africa contributed to the ancient worlds supply
of gold but of all mines operated the one in Nubia, Egypt did the most
