In order for our tropical fruits to be sold to the US mainland we need to quarantine them for pest treatment. Presently we have three approved methods. A vapor treatment for papaya, cold treatment for star fruit, and the third, Irradiation, for carambola, lychee, and any other fruit possible. It is essential that our farmers can export their yields otherwise they will not plant their fields, and that is just a pure waste of valuable resources.
