On March 26, 1997, I was taking an intensive math test when a shocking event occurred in Rancho Santa Fe. It was around 1:30 p.m. when a call came into the San Diego County sheriff’s office. The office did not think anything of it, so they put the call on last priority. A few hours later the sheriff sent his deputy, Robert Brunk, to check out the scene. Upon his arrival into the mansion full of a deadly odor, he counted ten bodies and then ran back out for fresh air. He then called in more officers for assistance.
