Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863 in a small farm town in Dearborn, Michigan. He grew up in a successful farm family. At an early age he enjoyed the typical things kids of his age would enjoy, but he also showed interest in mechanical activities. At the age of 16 he left his hometown to work as an apprentice mechanist for three years in Detroit and then returned back to his hometown. When he returned to his hometown he divided his time working for his father on the farm and working on steam engines. in 1908, surprisingly the model-T was extremely affordable for every walk of life from doctors to criminals and even blacks. While creating the model-T, Ford built the largest factory of his time. He had his factory running sharply, so that every worker had the part they need at the exact time they needed it. He was the company to use this system called “the assembly line”. In the 1920’s Fords motor company was very successful and was growing rapidly, producing 10,000 cars every day. He was responsible for 60% of Americas total production of cars in the 1920’s .
