Hierophany

Faith requires awareness, whereas trust is simply the act of reliance, justified or not. The awareness of faith lies in relationship to the divine sense and as actualized in an "other." Faith precludes speculations and requires the absolute acceptance of existence and beauty as personified or objectified in the other. Faith leaves no tolerance for explanation or rationalization. It does not require definition. Hence the simple definition of hierophany in the Greek as the manifestation of the sacred requires no need for further definition or specification, or for that matter any limitation or qualification as placed by language.
