"The oldest inmate to be executed in the U.S. was a 74 year old man, he was the oldest man the U.S. has executed in more than six decades"(Washington post). The time U.S. inmates spend on death row has gotten increasingly longer in recent years, this raises questions about the constitutionality of added punishment we should shorten the time spent on death row and punish them more harshly in the time that they are alive. 13 years have elapsed from the time the sentence ends to the time it is carried out. It seems that the inmates just give up fighting to live after so long at that point we should carry out their sentences. If they are not going to fight then there is no point in them waiting for it to happen because they are just going to commit suicide.
