Dragging my feet across the dull floor I slumped down on the kitchen chair. My mom asked, “Annie, what has been going on? You don’t seem yourself lately.” I guessed there was just nothing to motivate me in life. Something didn’t seem complete. Although I felt sad I answered, “Nope, I’m fine mom.”
The next morning I began to work on my art project. I scuffled up the stairs, still in my comfiest pajamas, and began to search for my hot glue gun in the attic. on me, nothing I’ve ever felt before. Some girls feel magical when a boy kisses them but nothing could be as magical as skating to me. From the age of 3, when my skates were nearly the length of a potato chip, people used to say that I was born with skates on. If I could I would make the world winter all year long and I would live by a pond so I could skate whenever I wanted. Sadly, my parents never allowed me to go to the Olympic level because they were scared I would get hurt just like my mother. This was my time to shine. I was ready to show my grandmother I could win the Hopper family a gold medal.
The first step of being an Olympian was training. I had a lot of training to do but I couldn’t tell my parents that I was skating after school, they would freak, so I decided to tell them I joined the art club and would be coming home late after school.
