In this essay I will tell about the German philosopher Immanuel Kant. Immanuel Kant believed that lying was always wrong. If you tell a lie, you are damaging the truth and for Kant we are also damaging ourselves. Kant believed that it was essential that we do the right thing for the right reason. He thought that trying to achieve what seems to be a good result by using bad means is irrational. So, if our nature is to be rational, then a lie is wrong, because to tell a lie would be to go against our nature as rational. He'd only believe what he does because he's been predetermined to do so. Arguments wouldn't matter. Without freedom, there is no rationality.
