Jealous Of Barbie?


I don't know, maybe I'm jealous. . Even though I am only sixteen years old now and have not fully 'grown up.' Growing up, maybe the 'Barbie image' gave me something to strive for, she was tall, had long beautiful blonde hair, her wardrobe was immense and varied, her waist line to die for, and those long legs and plump chest drew a sidekick/boyfriend named Ken, the 'male' Barbie. Now you can see why I'm jealous, or was jealous.
I look at her now, and think of ways I can reconstruct her, so that instead of being jealous I could snigger and make snide comments at Barbie's new deformed figure. Maybe give Barbie a set of dramatic- constructive surgeries. Maybe strip away her unrealistic chest ...

Barbie, instead of young girls trying to live up to this 'Barbie image' is that she is hollow inside.

That's what we all have to remember. Barbie is a doll, a toy. She is not human, she cannot talk and automatically she becomes the scapegoat, to the whole reason why women who are getting plastic surgery or even dying their hair blonde, or are unhappy with their body image. Maybe it's the reason; maybe it's not.

I'm slightly confused about what Barbie means to me, apparently all those researchers say that at the age of sixteen and being a female I'm supposed to be more likely "influenced by the media"

Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. All I know is that I don't know what Barbie means to me, I've heard some people worship her, I've heard some people detest her.

Over the years Barbie has become a major role model for young girls, but many people know that Barbie was originally based on a prostitute 'Lili', in a German comic strip, and was later made into dolls and sold in adult stores. ...
