John Coltrane
John William Coltrane was born on September 23, 1926 and was an American Jazz Saxophonist and Composer. He was born in Hamlet, California and grew up in High Point, North Carolina. He grew up entirely with his family until about starting December 1938 Coltrane's aunt, grandparents, and father all died within a few months of each other. As a result, John was left to be raised by his mother and a close cousin. He lived with them for while, but then enlisted in the Navy in 1945, and played in the Navy jazz band once he was stationed in Hawaii. His massive influence on jazz, both mainstream and avant-garde, began during his lifetime and continued to grow after his death, to eventually become much bigger. The song shows various emotions and definitely displays examples of some major characteristics of Jazz as well.
