In the article written by John Gatto titled “Against school” Gatto explains the crippling effect of the American mass public education system on the kids. He explains firstly that the problem of our education system lies with us, Secondly, Gatto explains the three original goals mass public education and how these three things contradict the sickening goals of today, and what the real solution to un-crippling the kids of our nation really is. All of these eye opening aspects are very agreeable arguments.

I think there is a major flow in public schools in America. I work very hard for a grade, not to be knowledgeable in a certain subject, and many of my friends do the same thing; we do the homework as it comes and cram, and memorize information days before a test that that it may be passed, not for information to be learned. This is very wrong because just as Gatto explained, it cripples us from learning how to be ourselves, I myself am struggling to come up with a true opinion against Gatto’s article and found myself asking my class mates what they thought of it before creating my own thoughts on the matter.
Moreover, Gatto explains another man, Inglis’, break down of the actually purpose of the modern schooling. Many of them exhibit things like “the conformity function,” and also how it is designed to determine your social role not help you discover, and also how personal bed has been distorted, all of these I’ve experienced in my years of school.
