Julian Rotters writting " Are You The Master of Your Fate" is based on the premise of whether a person believes in luck or fate or believe in making their own choices. Rotter had proposed two main points to demonstarte in his research. One he predicted that a test could be made up to measure the extent to which individuals are internal or external locus-of-control orientation towards life. Second, he hypothesized that internal and external locus of control people will show differences in their interpretations of the causes of reinforcements in the same situation. He proposed to show this by showing research comparing the behaviors of "internals" and "externals" in various contexts.
To comply with his hypothesies Rotter came up witha scale that contained a series of many pairs of statements. Each pair of sentences contained one statement reflecting an intenal locus of control,while another reflecting external locus of control.
