In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, a major part of the plot revolves around Lady Macbeth’s and Macbeth’s reactions and judgments of each other. The discernment that they have of each other is completely contrary. Not only are their views very different, they are also miscalculated. Originally, Lady Macbeth is the one convincing Macbeth to move forward. In the end, he is doing things on his own, and she gives up her life. and Macbeth still thinks he needs to do more. The ultimate injustice that he commits is the murder of Lady Macduff and her young son. There was no motive, and their deaths did not advance his position in any way. Furthermore, he reveals that “ the very firstlings of my heart shall be the firstlings of my hand.” From now on, he has vowed to act simply on impulse without even thinking over his next action.
Before Duncan’s murder, Lady Macbeth seems to be the stronger one in her marriage. However, this view is incorrect. She is pushing for Duncan’s murder, but she can not commit the murder because he “ resembled my father as he slept.” This shows weakness because she allows her emotions to get in the way.
