The problem with legalizing gay marriage is that there are people that think that being homosexual is wrong, and recognizing the marriage of a gay couple would be a terrible thing. Most of the people that are against homosexuals getting married support their ideas with religious beliefs. The people in the con side think that loving someone of your same gender is a sin, and so gay couples should not exist much less gay marriage should be legalized.

On the other hand, there are the people in pro side, the homosexual people, who love their partner as much as a heterosexual person does, the family, and friends of this homosexual people. In the pro side not only the homosexual people suffer by not being able to have a recognized union in all the states, but also the family and friends suffer as much as they do since they go through everything with their loved ones.
