Macbeth Eulogy

Welcome fellow Thanes, royal guests and citizens of Scotland. We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of a great man. When he died many considered him a tyrant. The person who we are here to pay respects to today was a noble man and a great leader, a man I am proud to have called a friend. Every son of Scotland needs to remember his true character. I am Thane of Lennox and my friendship with Macbeth was a long, healthy and happy one.

Macbeth had an incredible relationship with his wife as they referred to each other as 'dearest love' (1:5:56). Ultimately it was this relationship that contributed the most to Macbeth' untimely downfall. As a devoted husband he strove to do anything and everything that was possible for his wife. It was this loyal relationship that helped uproot a great kingdom and King. Lady Macbeth gave her devoted husband misguided advice and others influenced him in similar ways. They all used his gullible tenacity to destroy what good will he had left.
Macbeth' weak mind, ability to be misguided and his ambition were to blame for the changes in him. The changes that led him from great, noble and a valiant commander what many people believe a tyrant were the result of these three flaws. Many other great men have had less serious weaknesses that have ultimately led to their downfall. Macbeth was no different in this case. ...
