Macbeth: Good Are Rewarded And Evil Punished

In the story of Macbeth the good are often rewarded and the evil are punished. Macbeth kills and in the end he is killed. Malcolm leads a battle to reclaim Scotland and was crowned the new King. However, sometimes nemesis failed to prevail. Both Banquo and King Duncan caused no evil and yet they were both murdered. On the other hand a look at the “big picture” shows that Scotland is purged of evil and justice is restored.
Macbeth killed Duncan and Banquo. He also slaughtered Macduff’s family. In the end of the story Macbeth loses all he has and is killed himself.

Banquo and Duncan were both innocent and pure people. Macbeth himself says that Banquo is “...royalty of nature...” (Act III, Scene i, Line 49). Duncan praises Macbeth “True, worthy Banquo, he is full so valiant,And in his commendations I am fed;” (Act I, Scene v, Lines 54-5) showing is good, kind, and pure heart. These two people were both kind and noble, but nemesis does not play its role for their kind souls. Banquo is murdered only to ease Macbeth’s mind. Duncan is killed to advance Macbeth’s social statue. Both men contributed nothing but good to society and were kills for their efforts. Nemesis failed to prevail in this case.
Nemesis does however prove it’s presence when the “big picture” is brought into consideration. Malcolm refers to the Macbeths as the “dead butcher, and his fiend-like queen”(Act V, Scene ix, Line 35) after the battle, and promises that the order will be restored “What’s more to ...
